The Apex Lions Club teamed up with our newly sponsored Wake Southwest Centennial Lions Club friends from Holly Springs to do free vision screenings at the Latino Festival in Cary, NC on Saturday April 12th. It was a very hot day and the sun was beating down on us the entire time. But we still managed to do 87 free vision screenings for the attendees thanks in large part to some very special volunteers from Diamonte who helped as translators. They were instrumental in explaining what we were doing, helping them get signed in and explaining the results. Many we screened were children which is what our program is geared towards – helping detect issues before the age of six. But we also screened adults as well (as we always do). We also had an eye doctor (Dr. Vito is a member of the Wake Southwest Centennial Lions Club) on hand to help people understand the results if they had any questions.
Tell Us All About It!
Apex needs to know about all the good things we do. Tell us all about it so we can put it on the web, in the newsletter, on Facebook, Twitter, etc.! Or, if you know of an upcoming event that should be on our calendar send that in as well. Got pictures? We'll take those too!
