This year we went back to calling the Fish Fry the “Apex Lions Fish Fry” as it had been called for many years prior. Last year we tried renaming it to the “Apex Community Fish Fry” but we got feedback that it confused a lot of people so they did not realize it was the same. The good news is that it seems that changing the name back helped because we had a much more successful event this year.
The event is a joint effort and the proceeds are shared with Citizens Assisting Police in Apex (CAPA) as well. But for our part the Apex Lions Club portion of the proceeds was donated to Western Wake Crisis Ministry (WWCM). Pictured below is Lion Horace Johnson presenting the check for $2,500 from the Apex Lions Charitable Fund at the WWCM office.
