On October 1st, 2026, the Apex Lions Club hosted its first-ever community blood drive in partnership with the American Red Cross, and the Apex community showed up in a big way.

Twenty-six donors rolled up their sleeves and collected 26 units of blood, which could help save up to 78 lives right here at home. The Lions also thank those who came ready to give but were unable to donate this time. Their willingness to show up and try matters just as much, and we hope to see them at the next drive.

The drive’s success was a true team effort. Volunteers worked behind the scenes and at the front of the room to make sure every donor felt welcome and every step ran smoothly. Their time and energy turned a first-time event into a memorable one.

A special thank-you goes to the scouts of Troop 209. They welcomed donors as they arrived, helped keep the event running smoothly, and cheerfully pitched in wherever they were needed. Their service reflects the best of scouting, and the drive would not have been the same without them.
The Apex Lions Club is proud of what the community accomplished together and already looking forward to the next drive. Thank you to the donors, volunteers, scouts, and our partners at the American Red Cross for making this inaugural event a tremendous success.
