President of CAPA Richard Brooks receives check from Lion Horace Johnson for Identification Kit

The Apex Lions Club is assisting CAPA with the purchase of a new Identification Kit.  Citizens Assisting Police in Apex (CAPA) members are volunteers that assist the Apex Police Department in a variety of capacities enabling police officers to focus more on law enforcement.  The Apex Lions Club has been a strong supporter of CAPA since it was started and CAPA has supported the Apex Lions Club as well at Fish Fry’s and the State Fair.  So when we were approached about helping CAPA purchase a new Identification Kit we were glad to help!  Pictured above is CAPA President Richard Brooks (left) receiving a check for $1200 from Lion Horace Johnson (right) toward the purchase of the new Identification Kit.  CAPA will use this to provide ID cards to children and seniors in Apex.  CAPA was surprised and very appreciative of the Apex Lions Club support for their project. Lion Horace was invited to speak to them about Lionism and the history of the Apex Lions Club.  He also thanked them for their support at our fish Fry and Fair Booth projects.  Then he surprised them with the check!  Several of their members plan on working at the Fair booth as well as the Fish Fry event next March.  We look forward to a continued partnership with CAPA as both organizations serve the town of Apex!
