In Loving Memory of Tray Cromwell

By | July 18, 2026

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Tray Cromwell, who passed away on the evening of July 17, 2026.

Tray was the grandson of our fellow Lions, Carl and Linda Cromwell. In 2023, at just 25 years old, Tray was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. From the very beginning, Tray faced this devastating diagnosis with remarkable courage, determination, and an unwavering spirit that inspired everyone who met him.

When the Cromwell family needed support, the Apex Lions Club was honored to stand beside them. Through the Apex Lions Charitable Fund, we established a way for friends and family to make fee free, tax deductible donations so that every dollar could go directly toward Tray’s needs. We also dedicated the proceeds from one of our annual Fish Fry events to help the family with the challenges that accompanied his battle with ALS.

The generosity shown by our members and the Apex community was a reminder of what it means to serve. We are grateful to everyone who donated, attended the Fish Fry, offered encouragement, or kept Tray and his family in their thoughts and prayers. Together, our community demonstrated that no family has to face life’s hardest moments alone.

Our hearts are with Carl and Linda, Kevin and Tisha, and the entire Cromwell family during this difficult time. We ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers in the days ahead.

As additional information becomes available regarding arrangements or ways to honor Tray’s memory, it will be communicated directly to Apex Lions Club members.

If you would like to send financial support to the family we still have the ability to do that using this link.

Rest in peace, Tray. Your courage, resilience, and positive spirit touched many lives and will not be forgotten.
