Camp Dogwood Opportunity To Serve!

By | February 7, 2014

I hope you are already thinking of volunteering with us this summer. We need you! Volunteering for a week with visually impaired/blind campers will be the most rewarding experience of your summer. You can make a significant difference in the lives of the blind and visually impaired. Do you have a good energy level? Do you enjoy assisting visually impaired/blind persons? Come see what Camp Dogwood is all about, and how important it is to the individuals we serve. This summer, Camp Dogwood will serve up to 88 campers per week. To accomplish this, we need 6 – 8 volunteers each week.
Meals and lodging are provided at no charge to our volunteers. This is a one week commitment. We request that all volunteers arrive by 3:00 pm on Sunday, and depart after breakfast the following Saturday. We have a volunteer orientation meeting at 3:00 pm on arrival Sundays. If you need additional information or applications, please let us know. We are happy to mail them out to you, and they are also available on our website at www.nclionscampdogwood.com.
Whether you are an alumni or new volunteer, we hope you will plan on joining us this summer. Fun and fellowship will abound. New friends are waiting to be found. Favorite pastimes are in place, and we hope to add more musical performances and guest speakers. Wireless Internet is available if you would like to bring your laptop.
Once your application has been approved and your week has been assigned, I will e-mail or mail you a confirmation for that week. We encourage you to bring your spouse or a Lion friend to volunteer with. If you cannot volunteer this summer, please help us by passing this information on to someone who can.

Please consider joining us this summer. We look forward to having you here!
