Sometimes things don’t go as planned. This evening we had an unfortunate speaker cancellation so our current President, PDG Wayne Faber put on a short program for us instead. He shared a video from the Boys And Girls Homes of North Carolina.
Lions are one of the groups that supports this amazing organization along with all of the other major civic groups. And we have been involved from the very start. The video was narrated by the current President and Executive Officer, Gary Faircloth. Garry, himself, was once a resident of this program when he was a child so he is a living testimony of what can and has been accomplished. He tells the story of how when he entered the Boys And Girls Home he enjoyed many “firsts” such as the first time he had sheets on a bed, the first time he had a bed of his own and the first time he had running water indoors.
