Apex Lions Fish Fry

By | January 18, 2020

For the past 40 plus years, March has brought the community together to enjoy a great meal and fellowship. Fried Fish, homemade cole slaw, boiled potatoes, hush puppies and homemade desserts are served. A long standing tradition to raise funds to help make Apex a great place to live and raise our families.

The Fish Fry is always held on the Friday following the Lions Club meeting on the third Thursday.  It is held at the CC Jones building at 309 Holleman Street in Apex, locally known as the Community Center.  Dr Jones, a local physician, also a Lion, and his wife built the center and donated it to the Town of Apex under a Trust to make Apex a great place to live.

This year the Lions decided to officially join forces with Citizens Assisting the Police of Apex (CAPA) to continue this long-standing event.  Since Both the Apex Lions and CAPA are volunteer organizations working to make Apex the Peak of Good Living, this seemed like a great way to work together.  The Fish Fry will now be known as The Apex Community Fish Fry with members of the Lions, CAPA, Boy Scouts, LEOs and friends of APEX all volunteering to support this annual community event.

The funds raised from The Community Fish Fry event will be shared by both the Lions and CAPA to supports their efforts to make our community and the world around us a better place to live and raise out families.
