For the third time this month the Apex Lions Club performed Free Vision Screenings. This time at Apex Touch A Truck. This is an event that brings all sorts of vehicles into one place where kids can climb on them, honk their horns, ask questions and see them up close. They even flew in a Helicopter from UNC Hospital and landed it on the baseball field. With all of those children in one place it provided an opportunity for us to offer our free vision screenings and for CAPA to provide their free ID kits. The weather cooperated (although it was pretty hot and humid, at least it did not rain). All told we did 56 screenings and only made 3 referrals.
Tell Us All About It!
Apex needs to know about all the good things we do. Tell us all about it so we can put it on the web, in the newsletter, on Facebook, Twitter, etc.! Or, if you know of an upcoming event that should be on our calendar send that in as well. Got pictures? We'll take those too!
