Tonight, we had the pleasure of our membership chairman, Lion Paul Dean, providing us with a presentation on Lions Mission 1.5. This is a Lions International drive to expand membership to reach 1.5 Million members worldwide.
Paul provided an update on our current membership status and how our club and many other clubs in our district were declining in membership. Much of this decline could be associated with a combination of covid, health and member age issues.
Paul provided tips to the members on how, when, and where to approach potential members and challenged the members to replace themselves. In conclusion, he requested members to brainstorm on new community service projects upon which our club could feasibly conduct and utilized those projects to invite new potential community members to participate and learn more about Lions and the service we provide to our community.
