Pastor Harrison From Apex Baptist Church Shared The Christmas Story With Us
John Mark Harrison is the Lead Pastor of Apex Baptist Church. He is passionate about Christ and his church. He loves to see people come to know Christ and find their ministry in the church. John Mark and his wife Brigitte have one son, Cade.
John Mark grew up in a minister’s home and spent most of his childhood in Alabama (Roll Tide!). John Mark became a Christ follower as a child and began to sense God calling him to ministry as a high school student. While attending college at the University of Alabama, John Mark surrendered to ministry. He met Brigitte while in school at Alabama and they married in 2003. He finished his bachelors degree (BA in Religion ’06) at Samford University while beginning his ministry as Camp Director at Go Tell Camps and later a Student Pastor at Second Baptist Church, Houston (Pearland Campus).
In 2007, John Mark and Brigitte moved to Asheville to become the Pastor of Students at Biltmore Baptist. During this time, John Mark earned his masters degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDIV ’10). In April of 2011, John Mark became the East Campus Pastor and launched the first multi-site campus of Biltmore. In July 2012, John Mark became the Lead Pastor of Apex Baptist Church. He is currently pursuing his D.Min from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and hopes to complete it in 2013. His hobbies include reading, fishing, golfing and just about anything outdoors.
