Community Service in Action Along Kelly Road

By | May 9, 2026

On Saturday, May 9th, members of the Apex Lions Club joined friends of Lions, along with Boy Scouts and leaders from Troop 209, for a community cleanup along Kelly Road in Apex. This stretch of road is part of the North Carolina Department of Transportation Adopt A Highway program, and it is an area our club has proudly maintained for many years.

Working together for a few hours, the group collected trash and helped keep this important roadway clean and welcoming for everyone who travels through the area. While the volunteers did get a little wet during the morning, the rain was light and short lived, allowing the cleanup effort to continue without interruption.

Projects like this are an important part of the Apex Lions Club mission to serve our community. Caring for our local environment helps make Apex a more beautiful place to live, work, and visit. It also provides an opportunity for community members of all ages to work together in service.

We are especially grateful for the partnership and support of Troop 209 and the friends of Lions who volunteered their time and energy to help make the cleanup a success. Service projects like these demonstrate how much can be accomplished when community organizations come together with a shared purpose.

The Apex Lions Club is always looking for new members who want to make a positive difference in our community. Whether through environmental projects, support for Visually Impaired People, or other local service initiatives, there are many ways to get involved and help serve Apex.
