Our custom at the Apex Lions Club is to have a local pastor bring a Christmas message at our last meeting of the year. So this year was no different and we were visited by Laura Catherine from Apex United Methodist church.
First she shared an update on Lion Larry Jordan. He is currently dealing with some complications following a surgery. The doctors believe they have determined the source and are working on this now. So he is expected to recover but he still needs our prayers, of course.
The Christmas message was based on Luke 2:1-20 and the story of the life of Charles Schultz. Yes, the very same Charles Schultz of Peanuts fame – the comic writer. The version we got was said to be a preview of the one prepared for Christmas day at Apex United Methodist church.
It was quite a unique way to illustrate the meaning of the Christmas story and I wish I could do it some justice in this post but there is no way for me to convey this message properly here.
