Are you a graduating senior from an Apex-area high school with plans to attend college? The Apex Lions Club is excited to support students like you through the T.B. Holland Memorial Scholarship Program for the 2025–2026 academic year.

We will award up to three (3) $1,000 scholarships and three (3) $500 scholarships to students in the Class of 2025. Scholarships are one-time awards and will be applied directly to your 2025–2026 college tuition.

This scholarship is for students who:

  • Care about their school and community
  • Show leadership, character, and responsibility
  • Have goals for the future and are ready to take the next step after high school

Your application will be reviewed based on your essay responses, which give you the chance to share your story, your service experiences, and your plans for the future.

Other factors that may be considered include:

  • Teacher or community leader recommendations
  • Academic performance (GPA)
  • Financial need or special circumstances
  • Volunteer involvement — especially with the Apex Lions Club, Leo Club, Boy Scout Troop 209, or in the Apex community

Who Are the Lions?

Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service organization, made up of volunteers who work together to help their communities locally and around the world. Lions believe in service, leadership, and making a difference where it matters most.

The Apex Lions Club in Our Community

The Apex Lions Club has proudly served the Apex community for many years. Our members support vision care by providing eye exams and glasses to those in need, collecting eyeglasses and hearing aids for global distribution, and using vision-screening technology to help detect vision issues in children at an early age.

Through fundraising and community events, we also support programs such as Camp Dogwood for the Blind, Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina, Disaster Relief efforts, Diabetes Awareness programs, Leader Dogs for the Blind, Boy Scout Troop 209, the Apex Police Department, Western Wake Crisis Center, and other local initiatives.

Why We Offer This Scholarship

We believe students who show initiative, compassion, and a commitment to learning have the power to shape strong communities. By awarding these scholarships, we aim to support students who are ready to make a positive impact — both in college and beyond.
