The Apex Lions Club was proud to join the fun at the Apex Night Out and Touch-a-Truck event on October 7, 2025, held at the Apex Town Campus. This annual community celebration, hosted by the Apex Police Department and Apex Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources, brings families together to enjoy interactive exhibits, explore emergency and service vehicles, and strengthen community connections.

Amid all the excitement, Apex Lions volunteers offered free vision screenings through KidSight USA, a national Lions Clubs program focused on detecting vision problems in young children. Early detection can make a life-changing difference, especially for conditions such as amblyopia, often called “lazy eye.” When caught early, amblyopia can usually be corrected with glasses and, in some cases, patch therapy. If left untreated, however, it becomes permanent.
Throughout the evening, Lions walked through the crowd talking with parents and explaining the importance of early eye screenings. Many families took advantage of this free service, resulting in 64 vision screenings completed, including 39 children age six and under. Every screening helps ensure children get the care they need before small problems become lifelong challenges.
The Apex Lions Club is committed to serving the Apex community by helping people see and live better. From providing eye exams and glasses to families in need, to collecting used eyeglasses and hearing aids for global redistribution, our club continues its long tradition of service that began in 1937.
If you share our passion for helping others, we invite you to learn more and get involved. By joining the Apex Lions Club, you can make a direct impact on your community, meet new friends, and take part in meaningful service projects that change lives. Together, we can help everyone in Apex see a brighter future.
