At our most recent Apex Lions Club meeting, we had a surprise treat. With no guest speaker lined up, our own Lion John Lynde, a software engineer with a passion for Artificial Intelligence (AI), stepped up to give an impromptu talk.
He kicked things off with a fun game that got everyone thinking about how AI models process information. From there, he broke down what AI can and can’t do, how to get the best results when using it, and why it’s not something to be afraid of. Turns out, quite a few members had already dabbled with AI tools, leading to a lively Q&A session filled with great questions and insights.
This unexpected session reminded us that our meetings are more than just club business they’re opportunities to learn, grow, and connect. Whether it’s about technology, community service, or local initiatives, there’s always something new to discover.
