Annual Joint Meeting with Fuquay-Varina

By | February 19, 2026

Each year, the Apex Lions Club has the pleasure of hosting the Fuquay-Varina Lions Club for a special tradition, our annual Joint Meeting. This gathering is more than just a dinner. It is a celebration of partnership, shared service, and lasting friendship.

Many years ago, the Apex Lions Club proudly sponsored the formation of the Fuquay-Varina Lions Club. That sponsorship created a lasting bond between our two clubs. Our annual Joint Meeting is one way we continue to strengthen that relationship and keep our connection strong.

During the evening, we focus on fellowship and open conversation. We intentionally do not schedule outside speakers so that we have plenty of time to connect with one another. We share updates on membership growth, service activities, fundraising efforts, and other exciting news from each club. It is always inspiring to hear how our fellow Lions are serving their community, especially in support of Visually Impaired People, who we often called VIP.

This year’s Joint Meeting was especially timely, as it was scheduled just before the Apex Lions Club’s largest annual fundraiser, the Apex Fish Fry. We invited our Fuquay-Varina Lions friends to join us on March 6, either to enjoy a delicious meal or to volunteer alongside us. The Fish Fry is a signature event that helps fund our local service projects, including vision assistance, community support initiatives, and service throughout Apex.

In the spirit of partnership, the Fuquay-Varina Lions Club extended an invitation to us as well. They invited Apex Lions to support their upcoming golf tournament on April 27 at Bentwinds. Their tournament is an important fundraiser that allows them to continue serving their own community in meaningful ways.

This kind of collaboration reminds us that while each Lions Club serves its own local community, we are all part of something bigger. Through Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest service club organization, we work together to empower volunteers, meet humanitarian needs, and promote goodwill both locally and globally.

Events like our Joint Meeting strengthen our ability to serve. They build friendships, encourage idea sharing, and create opportunities to support one another’s projects. Most importantly, they remind us that service is even more powerful when we work together.

If you live in Apex and are looking for a meaningful way to give back, we invite you to join us. Whether you are passionate about supporting Visually Impaired People, helping families in need, or simply connecting with others who care about our community, there is a place for you in the Apex Lions Club.

Together, we can continue building strong partnerships and making a lasting difference, right here at home.
