By | June 5, 2025

At our recent Apex Lions Club meeting, we had the pleasure of recognizing an outstanding young leader, Akilah Anderson, as a recipient of the T.B. Holland Memorial Scholarship. A graduating senior from Apex High School, Akilah embodies the spirit of service that our club values deeply.

Scholarship Presentation

Akilah’s commitment to community service is evident through her founding of the nonprofit organization “A Child’s Dream,” which provides school supplies to a school in Uganda. Her dedication to making a positive impact aligns perfectly with the Lions Club’s mission to serve. This fall, Akilah will further her passion for justice and service by attending North Carolina A&T State University to study Criminal Justice.

We were honored to present Akilah with her scholarship certificate during our meeting, joined by her proud family. Her achievements and aspirations inspire us all and exemplify the potential of our community’s youth.

The T.B. Holland Memorial Scholarship is one of the many ways the Apex Lions Club supports local students who demonstrate exceptional character, academic achievement, and a commitment to community service. Through fundraising efforts and community support, we aim to invest in the future leaders of Apex.

If you’re inspired by Akilah’s story and want to contribute to empowering more students like her, consider joining the Apex Lions Club. Together, we can continue to make a meaningful difference in our community.
