We got a call from the Cary Lions with an opportunity! They received late notice that the Wake County government was organizing an event called Western Region Community Resource Day on Saturday, November 16th. In previous years the Cary Lions performed free vision screenings using a borrowed screener. But this year they were unable to find volunteers or acquire the camera in time.
So they reached out to the Apex Lions club for assistance. Thankfully, we were able to find enough volunteers and react quickly to solve the problem. The joint team of Apex and Cary Lions managed to perform a total of 50 vision screenings at the event. We scanned children as well as adults and made several referrals.
