I honestly did not think I would be saying this! But the Apex Lions were actually back at the NC State Fair in 2024. Well, some of us, anyway. We were contacted by the Raleigh Jaycees to assist them with their Turkey Shoot event. As with many volunteer organizations the pool of willing volunteers seems to be drying up. So a few of us agreed to take on some shifts to support the Raleigh Jaycees.
It was my first time every at a Turkey Shoot so I did not know what to expect. But it was quite a bit busier than I expected! Although it was a long day with a lot of walking it was fun at the same time. We got to meet some new people and have some laughs along the way. All in all, I am very glad we did this.
